First, keep your lottery entry simple. Pick Onion Valley as your exit point, and then put down Wallace Creek and maybe Vidette Meadow, two nights stay after Trail Camp. You can change all that info, and add more nights later on. Winning a slot in the lottery is the first thing you need. I am 99% sure that, IF you win in the lottery, you can then modify your trip -- your exit point and date, as well as where you will stay. Then use the "Other/Don't Know" selection after the first few nights.
Heck, you could even put Whitney Portal as your exit, and then change the entire itinerary once you found that you won. It is ONLY the trailhead entry location and date that matter for the lottery. (...only exception is that, if you start on a different trailhead within Inyo N.F. and want to exit via Whitney Portal, then you need the Trail Crest Exit permit, hard to get.)
Now, for a word of caution. Heading up and over Trail Crest from Whitney Portal on your start of a long journey has got to be tough, since you will be carrying many days of food, so your packs will be heavy. Very few people do that. Most will start from Horseshoe Meadows, since it avoids about 5,000 vertical feet in the first two days. It does add about 30 miles, but getting that permit is a lot easier than the lottery. And you can day hike Whitney from the west side, without needing a lottery win.
