Exit date does NOT matter at all! Most people exit after one night, some after two. But even if you change your mind while out on the trail and do something different than is on your permit, the rangers do not care at ALL.
Trip itineraries, camping locations, and exit dates are written down only to use if you fail to return home, and someone reports you missing. Then they have a clue where to start looking.
