My wife and I just missed this group by 2 days in July 2011. We finished the
northern section from Mammoth to Yosemite on July 8, two days before this team left from Yosemite heading to Whitney on July 10. We went back to Mammoth and hiked south to a favorite hot springs and heard about them on the trail from other hikers. They were moving pretty slow with all that gear and tons of snow, so we never saw them. I was hoping they would get the film out in time for the Sundance Festival, good excuse to go, but it didn't happen. Which goes to prove a corollary to Wagga's theory, "no moving pictures, it doesn't happened." Plan to finish the rest of the JMT this summer.
