Congratulations - a hike like that is never easy; so you deserve a pat on the back. I think that going up the Bright Angel Trail is terrible - those mule steps make it like climbing up almost 5000' on stairs - I doubt I'll ever hike on that trail again. The South Kaibab is a nicer route, but last year when I was there they were adding more steps to that trail; so it might be as bad as the Bright Angel as far as steps go now.
I just got back from doing a nice 3-day Thunder River - Deer Springs Lollipop loop - it was just beautiful - wonderful waterfalls along the way - really scenic. I enjoyed it much more than any of the hikes I've done on the Corridor Trails, and I enjoyed those hikes (except for the mule crap and mule stairs)very much.
Once again I ate like a pig on this Grand Canyon Trip - I almost ran out of food and I packed enough for four days. I think it has something to do with the low elevation - I don't lose my appetite like I do on trips when I'm up above 10'000'.
