The standard work on bear attacks is Stephen Herrero's "Bear Attacks: Their Causes and Avoidance."
Bought that one a few years ago and enjoyed it. Definitely good learnings between the covers. I tried to get my wife to read it, but she stopped after a few chapters - claimed it gave her nightmares.
