Just back from the Portal. There was a truck parked at the second gate.
Yesterday, the Highway Patrol was taking pictures and checking the truck out.
What made the truck's location interesting is that it was parked prior to the gate (must have been closed when he left the truck there for a hike).
This morning, Inyo Sheriff showed up at the gate prior to the overflow lot. Yes, that is where the road stops. They haven't opened the road any further.
On my way down the hill, 4 or 5 white trucks (Inyokern SAR) and vans were heading up the road.
Met a guy on Sunday who just finished the MR (day hike). Nothing said other than a hard hike.
I am not sure this is the same person.
The gate was open several days ago.
