Blah! You should take your whole family and go tromp around the Sierra for 3 months. It can be done!
aiming to do this for about 4-5 weeks this summer - kids need to do some school work, too. They are lucky I want to do the trip more than they do, since otherwise it would be algebra and french all summer for them... actually, I think they really like the mountains because you just can't bring all those books along.
