I think the snow rangers are great as well. Patient, courteous, well-informed, etc, and not overbearing. They follow a fine tradition, such as the Whittaker brothers, and now Peter Whittaker although I don't think he did a stint as snow ranger. The first time I did Rainier was via the Emmons Glacier route from the White River Campground, and Mike Gauthier was manning their station at Camp Shurman. Had the opportunity to visit with him a couple of times as we waited a couple of days for the weather to break, and also watched him snowboard thru a crevasse field on the Emmons. Amazing fellow on so many levels. He's moved on from the USPS, but still an active climber, writer, and photographer.
