KevinR,
Trust me - I know on the solo thing. I applied for a permit for the only route I felt good about soloing - Success Cleaver, which avoids any glaciers if you stop at the lower summit (point success?), but has about 11,500 feet of gain, 30 mile round trip, etc etc. The rangers were great, spent a lot of time talking to me, but ultimately shut me down. Now that I've been on the mountain, I'm glad they shut me down. I'm not ready to solo even a non-glaciated route on that thing. She's a beast.
Bulldog34,
I bet those stories were amazing. In another life, I would have been a mountain guide. To me, that's the life, but instead I'm stuck in an office.
