Bob, that was an epic trek to watch. On Friday I was scratching my head at the pace you were maintaining, particularly heading back down. I was almost certain you were skiing - your SPOT had you going from the JMT junction on the west side to Mirror Lake in one hour, nine minutes! Did you glissade other than the chute from Trail Crest? And that first six miles up to BP looked pretty damn strong to me for the conditions - before I knew you were hauling 60 pounds on snowshoes. If this is what you can do when you're not in backpacking shape . . .
One question: your SPOT showed you finishing at one location Thursday night and another on Friday. I'm pretty sure you didn't move your camp, so just a case of sending "I'm home" before you were actually at your destination?
Great trek, great TR, enjoyed it very much. Congrats on making a really hard climb (for most of us) look almost ridiculously easy, although we know it was anything but. How many consecutive summits is that now? Looking forward to some photos!
