For the best breakfast and the best cup of hot coffee in the holy city of Oakhurst, CA, check out The Grind.

Here is an interesting story about The Grind just published in the Sierra Star.

So if you are coming up Yosemite way, Facebook -- The Grind.

And if you are lucky, the cook Daniel is an accomplished pianist! Doesn't know how to read music...self-taught...nicest guy in the world...and if you ask, he may play for you between orders!

Have fun.

I feel it was a class act for Madera County to do such a thing. The owners are really good people.

The Grind is past the "infamous" Oak Room on the right. The Grind is across the fruit stand. It was known as the Yosemite Coffee & Roasting Company.

When you are in the area, let us know ahead of time and we can probably join you.

Semper fi.

We have done Yosemite the past three years for our anniversary, staying at Tenaya Lodge. We even met up with Steve C, Laura and the infamous waggaa few years ago. This is our 34 anniversary so I ask my wife Jana shall I go ahead and make our reservations for Tenaya today?
Mind you we have had great times the past 3 years and we had our honeymoon in Yosemite so I thought this was a slam dunk. Jana throws the monkey wrench in saying why don't we go to the beach instead? I look at her and ask are you serious? She says yeah I would rather go to the beach. So maybe we aren't doing our annual yosemite trip. I'll keep you posted Gary.
