Decided to do the south slopes to avoid any possible snow. Made my way quickly up to Mirror Lake, where I circumnavigated the northern end and started my way up the scree slope. It wasn't as bad as advertised. At around 11,200' there was a slightly tricky class 3 section that I didn't expect. The route was not super obvious and I'm glad I had a .gpx on my Gaia app. When I reached the summit I was greeted with expansive views of Whitney, Russell (dry), Carillon (dry), Cleaver, Gamber's Special (dry), Irvine and McAdie as well as the Russell-Carillon and Arc passes. The ascent was pretty easy and despite this being my first Sierra peak of the season the elevation didn't seem to bother me too much (it was only 12,306').
