Hi there, I just relocated to California and am looking for partners to summit Mt Whitney next week, but if not sometime in the future. I have an extensive climbing resume but it’s missing anything in the Sierras. In addition I just recently returned from Nepal after climbing my first 6k peak and trekking for many days so acclimatization will not be an issue.
I’d like to do this in a o e day push but am okay with two days as well. I’d love to join a group or start a group with other competent climbers. Tia.

Hello Juya,
I am planning to summit(hopefully) Mt Whitney on the weekend of Dec 9/10. Based on the recent trip reports, the trail conditions is challenging (chest high snow on the switch backs?!). I am planning a 2-3 day trip.
Thanks,
Baitao

Hello,
I have hit the summit of Whitney last June in a 2 day push, snow conditions.
I am interested in doing a day-push and would love a partner for moral boost and positive vibes.
I may need a night or two at whiteny portal to accumulate before the summit push, but i can handle long mileage and the weather.
Let me know, my schedule is completely open up until December 17th.
Feel free to text me at 619-508-2889

I hope you all know... It's winter on Mt Whitney! It takes a completely different set of tools to make it in December.
Even your water needs to be protected from the cold, or you'll be carrying a bottle of solid ice!

Steve C,
You make a valid point, and from your 30+ goes at the Whit I take your words very seriously.
In looking at recent photos and trail reports in late November, it seemed that winter has not taken a hold of the mountain completely. With the sunny forecast ahead I was thinking a final push might be feasible before it gets completely nasty up there. In the end I am always one to be fine with turning back, an attempt is as good as a summit sometimes in my book.
Thanks!

I am doing an one day push on Dec 9th. Weather looks "warm" and sunny.

Alex, I haven't been on Whitney nearly that many times. I just pay attention to all the info passed through the forums. Just be careful up there! BTW, there is someone on the Facebook Mt. Whitney group, chepelocko.chepelocko who is talking up plans to hike Dec 15-16.

Let us know if the trail is passable. My brother and I might try the mountaineers route, but if the trail is passable we might go for that.
Either way, be safe. If we go the MR we will have full mountaineering equipment.
