Tracie and I took Shobita to Langley, for her first time and introduced her to the shortcut. We slept outside near the parking lot with a beautiful starry night. Weather was perfect around 52deg. on summit, met Amy on the summit I believe that was my second time meeting her and congratulated her on the towers.

With the recent rains from the short cut to the base of Langley
the sand was in perfect condition just firm enough to put a small indentation in the ground and able to run down part way after the summit with ease.

I took pictures of Navy Pass #2,4,5,6 to show Louise to see if she would like to try it.

After breakfast at Alabama Hills cafe we stopped at Randsburg
to show Shobita the town, last Thursday they got 2.6 inches of rain and you can still see some of the mess on the road. I saw this broken down Bultaco motorcycle notice the thumbs up on the gas tank and it brought back the 70's as my friend had one that we rode in Torrance when their was dirt lots here.

Thanks for the report and pictures, Mark! Your route is an interesting variation for the approach to Langley. We should try to set up a map people can see showing the route.

That's a great tele-zoom shot of the Whitney summit -- about 5 miles away from Mt Langley.
