A group of 6 of us summited Mount Whitney yesterday on a day hike.
Trail is in excellent condition, a bit of snow in certain areas but no crampons or microspikes needed. We saw a lot of discarded Wagbags along the trail after outpost camp.
We left the trailhead at 3am and got back at 7:40, too late to get a Burger at the Portal Store :-(
