Actually I was serious, if a little roundabout wondering whether much less than a foot ( presumable effect at lower elevations) is cause for a road closure.

Roads at 12,000 feet above sea level . . . first and foremost, the road to just below the summit of Mt. Evans in Colorado -- the highest paved road in North America. Go here .

Actually I was serious, if a little roundabout wondering whether much less than a foot ( presumable effect at lower elevations) is cause for a road closure. This was the White Mountain Road a little past the Patriarch Grove in 2010. Shows what happens when people drive to those places in October without paying attention to the weather forecasts. That car got trapped in the first snowfall. The picture was taken in March.
