When do the 2015 day use permits become available?

I only have one week off from school in July before I have to be back at the grind stone and I would like to be able to hike the mountain again.

Its pretty frustrating finding all X'es on the permit page knowing that it can pretty difficult to get permit at that time of year.

A week is plenty of time to do Whitney from a nearby alternate route, so your odds of snagging something suitable are very high. If you are solo a weekday even in July is a high probablity for a walk up cancellation or no show. Lottery is early next year. I would go ahead and make plans. With the coaching you can get here on permit strategy, its a pretty safe bet.
