What I saw in Backpacker Magazine that caught my eye:

1. The Victorinox Paracord Bracelet.....the ad claims the bracelet can be unraveled to provide a 10 ft. Cord that will hold up to 550 lbs.
has anyone on the WZ used one of these bracelets?

2. On the humorous side.....the same ad shows Andrew Skurka...an expert trekker who prides himself as knowing how to travel light....opening a can of Campbell's soup at camp...I wouldn't think of a can of soup being light in weight...sure would taste good though.....especially cream of celery or mushroom.

Only 10 feet? Would never buy it for show or for use...can make my own.

Guess Mr. Skurka is being "endorsed fed" by Campbell's. Imagine a lifetime supply of cream of celery or mushroom. sick (just kidding, LAR!)

I would prefer chicken noodle.

I wish Trader Joe's or Whole Foods will endorse me! grin

Journey well...

Where we have potable water available along the trail, canned goods may seem humorous, but in places where all water must be carried anyway, the weight of the contents must be carried anyway and the weight of the can serves as food container, water container and possibly a cooking utensil.

I scratched my head too when I saw this mag. ad. I thought something is just not right.
