We just got home from Sam Mack Lake in the Palisades, it was an amazing day we cancelled our plans to do Williamson today due to the weather report ,they were wrong but here is some info for the folks interested in the Palisades region . The Trail is clear all the way up to the glacier. All the chutes look amazing some new snow but the climbing looks great wish i had my skiis thats for sure i would say for another day or so it will be good skiing and the climbing is perfect.

You do realize, that you are posting about something other than the main mount whitney trail, right?

We don't know what you're talking about. Bishop Pass this, or Palisades that.

Did you camp at Outpost Camp? No? Wait, is American Idol on?

Sorry if are offended you with my posts about other peaks / places here in the Sierra Nevada. In scanning through the trip reports on this website, it is immediately evident that others post about non-Whitney locations! Hmm.
Just in case you are thinking I don't love and respect Mount Whitney...well you are wrong! We have been spending 1 or 2 days per week on Mount Whitney since the start of last winter and am continually harassed for that love affair!!! When I get home I am excited to post my trip reports, and more often then not...they are about Whitney!!!
If you really don't want to read about trips that do not involve Outpost Camp, well, the title of my posts gives away the location and you sure don't have to read any farther.

MW, Burchey takes some getting used to. He was actually, I believe, giving you a big thumbs-up in his own imicable way. Tongue-in-cheek satire, as it were.

LOL, all the time spent at high altitude, the exposure, and his lust for MooseTrack has driven him mad and frayed his nerves. I agree with Bulldog, he's giving you a compliment in his unique way.

Please continue posting your trip reports. The pictures from Agassiz were cool. I haven't been in the region in two years. Going back to tackle some of the 14ers in the Palisades this summer though.

And since she's off cavorting on glaciated volcanoes in the PNW, he's likely suffering separation anxiety as well . . .

Ditto Atari's sentiments, MW - your TRs of high-velocity Sierra escapades are much appreciated here. Burchey was saying pretty much the same thing and slamming the "Whitney drones". He's all over the Sierra year-round and takes a poke at others from time to time to remove their Whitney blinders. Your non-MMWT TR was too good for him to resist, I'm sure.

Oh, my dearest Mountainwalker85 - you have not offended me in the least. In fact, quite the opposite. You have, however, fallen in the ranks of a rapidly growing club known as

"Those Who Have Found Themselves Either Alienated or Confused by Something Burchey Said"

Good news is: You're in good company. Bad news is: you have to pay 15 bucks in dues.

It's quite refreshing to see reports and pictures of folks getting into the surrounding mountains, and while this forum is named after that ole Hag Mt. Whitney, we all love to see shots or hear tales of lesser peaks. Just be careful with your watermarks - I'm told you can get quite the tongue-lashing for adding them....beware....

On a related note - the exit from what I think is Sam Mack Lake that you visited formed into a really beautiful frozen waterfall this past winter. It was something to see, but we were too cold to stop and play around on it.

You need to work up a disclaimer much like "Woodsy Guy" has done (George Durkee) He must have taken some heat for his posts; Woodsy blames it on caffiene.

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.
