The NOAA site for the WhitneyZone shows a 50% chance of thunderstorms for Whitney Portal on Saturday and Saturday night, and snow likely near the summit of Mt Whitney Friday night through Saturday night. Hikers and campers BEWARE!

It sprinkled at 4 pm Friday in Fresno, and the temp was about 90 Degrees!

Yeah we are having some wild thunder and lightening here in SoCal.

Thanks wazzu. Unfortunately, it's just not meant to be for me. I'm as sick as a dog, and not going anywhere this weekend. It may still happen on my third shot, but it's going to have to wait until next year.

Congrats on your summit though, I'll be using your story as my inspiration to keep myself in shape this whole next year.
