That's excellent news Rod! It's been a long road for you, through two trying periods, but it sure seems to be paying off. Congrats, my friend!

Hopefully we can hook up at the Portal this July since it didn't work out last year. I'd love to buy you a Moose Drool.

Thanks everyone.I would love to at least meet up with everyone this summer at the Portal.I am not in any kind of shape to hike right now. I have tried a few times to train and battled fatigue from 8 weeks (40 treatments) of radiation. I am still easily fatigued so to answer wazzu's question "No I haven't started training for a marathon yet". I really do want to walk next years Wild West marathon.I do want to get a victory lap to summit Whitney this summer. Might be a late spring/summer due to so much late snow on the mountain this year so maybe by August or early September I can give it a go.
BTW that Avatar to the left is me 1 month(June)before my radical prostatectomy in July 2007.

This is wonderful news, Rod.

I've been thinking about you and wondering about you and how you're doing. I was so happy to see a thread posted by you with the subject line of "Great News" because I was sure it could only mean something good about your health so I quickly opened it.

Thanks for sharing your good news with your friends on the Whitney Zone,

Lynn

Great news indeed Rod..... Try to come up to the portal when Gary is up there. He attracts hikers from the board like crazy!!!!! That's the reason I hang with him. I hear Barb could drag both of us up Whitney after her 28 mile hike last weekend to help fight cancer!!! We could possibly talk wazzu into going up there for a beer. I heard Gary is buying.

Let's do a "shorty" soon, possibly a partial Baldy or even something up near you. I don't get there often, but I do have some friends up in your neck of the woods.

Congratulations!

One step at a time, Rod! Who needs a marathon anyways? You have proved your mettle.

Did I hear sharing some beer at the portal to celebrate Rod's good news? (think of the chipmunk from caddyshack popping his head up)

Looking forward to it.
