I just downed a Snickers. I eat one every time I summit or end a good hike. Tonight I just gave in after 2 1/2 hours at the gym. So, with Snickers on my mind....and in my stomach:
What's your favorite candy bar for hiking?

Almond Joy! Makes my mouth water just looking at the pictures! For my taste buds, they're the perfect blend of chocolate, coconut and almonds. Yum!

Payday... Dang, can't post a picture... I think I am going to ! But during my days of riding centuries (100+ miles), my fave post-ride was 2 orders of fries and a choc shake. After my post-"Mecca West" hikes, gotta love them portal fries and an ice cold IPA or some other suitable substitute preferably with some sort of alcoholic content to numb the pain in my lower extremities. Oooooooooooo... May coming up... April showers bring PORTAL FRIES!!!
Journey well...

I don't eat candy bars very often so I don't really know all the options but my current favorite is reeses fast break. It's so filled with peanut butter goodness.

Oh geeeez, even I'm diverting from the subject.
AFTER a hike, there is nothing better than a HUGE BURGER!!!!! Yes, Fries and a Shake to.
Can somebody please post a picture of Doug's burger. Gary and I missed his burger after our summit last year by less than 5 minutes.......and we even lowered ourselves to having Bri beg for us at the Portal Store.

At the risk of being verbally hammered again (i.e., last year when I posted this photo and certain Mooses and Axemens derided my beer selection): And just for chuckles, a hearty Portal breakfast:

Maybe this is what they had in mind? And the Whitney power breakfast. And to get back on topic, nothing better than a summit Snickers.

James. Damn . . . that's scary. At least you didn't exponentially replicate the pancake.
Oh yeah - another vote for the obligatory Snickers bar here. Not necessarily my top-of-the-line favorite, but it holds up fairly well in a hot or cold backpack. My real favorite is Little Debbie Nutty Bars, but talk about a mess coming out of a hot backpack!

As long as this thread is officially hijacked, and it wasn't me who did it... ... A veggie sandwich on freshly-baked Schat's bread and an ice-cold Rogue Ale...Captain Sig's Northwestern Ale... That was a good day...

Rogue Ale...Captain Sig's Northwestern Ale... My wife can have the veggie, while I chug the ale. Schat's bread? Any sandwich tastes better with Schat's. Another reason to venture to the Eastend for Schat's, Whoa Nellie Deli, Portal Store, Alabama Hills Cafe. My wife and I stopped at Newport, OR, last year on our Northwest Crusade and sampled and drank Rogue Yellow Snow IPA and another IPA at the brewery on the riverbank. WHOA, I felt like doing a rendition of James Brown's "I Feel Good." Food there was pretty good, too! Service was excellent Okay, back to the bars...wait...bars = beer < ale. Hey, I made a funny.
Journey well...

NOT a favorite. This stuff looks and tastes like what you see on the trail after pack mules go by.
