The trail starts on the eastern side of the Merced and then crosses over it at the Vernal Falls Bridge. Probably people would be slightly irritated to find out later
that they missed the big John Muir Trail sign to start their long trek ..
You mean I missed the big JMT sign?
Fortunately, I didn't get lost and run out of food in one of the Yosemite valley parking lots.
I'll look into that and see about correcting it.
