According to voicemail, they said the road is opening 6/17 (today) and Google Maps is showing the route from Lone Pine to Whitney Portal campground as open (not sure if this wasn't the case yesterday). So am pretty optimistic about a 6/19 opening of the campground.
Now, if only there was more info on permits....
