Is the closed upper gate pretty close to the parking lot? The GPS coordinates from a few comments earlier appear to be about a mile from the upper parking lot.

I am thinking about heading up next weekend. I would assume it’s still ice axe and crampons at the higher elevations and a possible cornice at the top of NAP.
