How exciting, but only to be disappointed by a mere deer!
Mountain lion eyeshine is yellow with a touch of green. I have first-hand experience with this as I've had a nighttime encounter before while backpacking solo near Tahoe, around elevation 7000'. They can be curious (they are cats after all) but also easy to scare off, being big scaredy-cats ha ha.
