Aw man, echo8! It looks like Thursday is the last good day before it comes in.
Weather will not be too bad on the Hwy 395 corridor, Lone Pine to Bishop. You can head up a number of roads to the snow level and snowshoe higher until you have had enough. The Onion Valley road out of Independence comes to mind.
Unfortunately there is no alternate route to Horseshoe Meadows. People just can't go there in winter.
You might just consider turning your back on the Sierra and touring Death Valley -- wildflowers are reportedly the best in years this spring. Corkscrew peak is a well-known desert hike there.
