Looking for expressions of interest in the Thorsborne Trail in Queensland, Australia.

This is rated as one of the best backpack trips in the world.

Total of 32Km (20 miles) spread over 4-6 days, with ferry trips at each end.

Here is some more info.

Well-behaved children are welcome, especially useful to the group for testing salt-water creek crossings.

Bookings are difficult to get, and are limited to 6 persons per permit. We will need to book about a year ahead. I'm sure I can line up 2 local leaders, for a total of 12 participants.

Best time of the year is during the dry season (Winter) where the temperatures are usually between 65 to 80. We recently endured bitter cold at 50 degrees.

Once at the base-camp (Cairns) there are tropical island visits and outer reef diving/snorkeling, great tours on the tablelands & a lot else.

Costs should be very reasonable, with the Oz dollar at around 70-something US cents right now. Accommodation ranges from backpacker hostels to 5-star hotels.

The language barrier is not insurmountable, and the locals are very friendly.

So, is there any interest? Will field any and all questions.
