Every day is a training day for us. If we take a day off, someone or some thing will be a day ahead of us.

The only easy day was yesterday...

Although we did not secure a permit for Mecca West, we are training in the event we can secure a walk-in.

Heavy packs(food, water): up and down the foothills in our community. Some elevation gains of 500 feet in 1/2 mile.

"Curbing": We work on our proprioreceptors by walking on the curbs alongside the roads to work on balance and to strengthen our lower legs. Done with and without heavy packs. With packs, center of gravity is raised. Makes for a challenge up and down hills on the curbs. No twisted ankles.

Running: without the heavy packs.

Hikes: Snowshoe hikes at Badger Pass. Hikes at Alder Creek, Mariposa Grove.

Daily routine: 1,000 crunches, 500 pushups, 100 pullups, 100 bardips, 100 vertical knee raises.

Weight training: Leg presses, leg extensions, leg curls, squats, upright rows, pulldowns, curls, tricep extensions, rowing.

Print and post the following to your bathroom mirror or on the dash of your car:

NOBODY EVER DROWNED IN SWEAT.
PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO FAIL. BE AFRAID NOT TO TRY.
THOSE ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN DID NOT FALL THERE.
HAVE FUN

Have fun!
