I called the Inyo County road dept. office and talked to the receptionist. She reported that they plan to have both roads open by April 25. She told me they were working on them now.
Note that fishing season opens Apr. 26. There must be more fishermen in Inyo County than hikers.
In the past, they have always made opening day for fishing as their target.
The April 25 date is later than the Apr 20 that Doug reported, so maybe we can find out closer to those dates what really will occur.
