Sounds like a great trip indeed, Bob! Black Kaweah is truly one of my favorite summits. I was solo, so the looseness didn't bother me all that much, and the scrambling was a blast! I think I found some low 4th slab near the top (which I bypassed on the downclimb), but the intermittent cairns kept me in the right chute.
Yup, even mini-Moosie had a blast up there!!
