Bee - I've also been intrigued by the recesses. I think I'll try to visit that area sometime. I'll try and find that trip report you mentioned.
Steve - Swimming in Summit Lake, Awesome! I wonder, is it as cold as you would expect for a Sierra lake or is it maybe not as deep and therefore a little warmer? As for this year, I am gearing up and making plans. Should be out there in September.
Wagga - Trans-Sierra day hike... interesting concept. I must try that sometime!
