Starting my JMT solo at HI August 5, with a listed Whitney Portal exit August 26. Open return ticket, though, to allow for all eventualities. I'd like to see the film before the trp, but it might just drive me crazy. Instead, I'll see it after the trip, so I can drive my date crazy with "I was there!" type comments.
Or you could start your hike earlier so you can see the movie sooner. The airlines and reservation folks will understand.
