My several lottery itineries all got turned down which ended up not mattering because this past spring the Air Force decided to move me to Japan instead of back to California. On the bright side, I was able to pick up someones cancelled permit on rec.gov. I plan to solo hike on the 4th of July. So excited, only downside is that I really wanted to do this multi-day and enjoy myself. Not an option though because all my backpacking gear is in transit to Japan.
