You'll notice her dad is wearing only a Camelbak, but that's it's an overnight trip in semi-winter conditions. That's because Laura toted everything for the both of them. She told me later that her pack weighed in at over seventy pounds at the Portal.
Champagne magnums and 5-course dinners are heavy . . . but clearly worth it in some instances.
