Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Looking for a day hike permit for MWMT on Sat, Sep 25

I am going to do the "normal" things that Steve C. reminds us about - like calling the permit office frequently and trying for cancellations by 11:00 am and no-shows by 2:00pm.

BUT, if anyone is holding a day hike reservation for Sep 25 and does not intend to use it, I would love to make use of it.

The on-line information at fs.usda.gov/inyo was just updated yesterday and Sep looks pretty well booked up.

Yes, it stays that way until just a few days before the actual hike date. That's when a few kind people phone in and release their reserved slots.
