Thinking about heading up to Mount Langley from the Cottonwood Lakes basin this weekend (11/6-11/9). Does anyone know how much snow there is roughly after the last storm?

(As an aside, I am aware the dangers of OAP, and I am experienced and not summit hungry. Just curious as to what gear I should plan on bringing rather than skis, snowshoes, crampons, ice axe and the kitchen sink).

First, call Inyo County Road dept (760) 878-0202, and make sure the road is open. It will be closing soon, it's just a question of when they decide it isn't worth clearing the snow.

The Inyo N.F web page shows it currently open, as of Oct 30, but call that number!

Since I missed out on Mount Langley this year (good info on the road, thanks), I went for a half day up the Meysan Lakes trail. Conditions/photos here: http://lastadventurer.com/last-adventure...l-november-2015

Good to see snow; but stay safe out there people!
