I took 100+ with my 'hiking' camera. Only got two that are worth posting:

seen from my back yard with my hiking camera, but not my hiking lens, 3:15 am central, about 30 mins after peak

This all reminds me... a few years ago, when at Thousand Island Lake in the middle of the day, we spotted Venus with the naked eye. I used my hiking pole to stabilize my older hiking camera, and took some pictures of it. When I looked at the pictures on the computer, we could even see some stars. ...caught several mosquitoes, too. grin

So... with newer cameras which are better at zooming in, I am pretty sure people could get pictures of stars from the top of Mt Whitney in the middle of the day. I'd sure like to see people try. Just zoom your camera all the way in, aim skyward, and click off a few images. When you get home, expand the pictures on a computer screen and see what you got.
