This priceless 1992 ad for a product called Talens Rubber Cement is a television commercial that swept the Cannes International Advertising Film Festival, winning its Grand Prix award.

" The woman, her newborn and her teenager all needed emergency medical attention. The only way to get them to a doctor was by charter plane, but it couldn't take off because the runway was dark in the dead of night.
So a local radio station put out a call for help, and within 30 minutes, some 300 cars and motorcycles showed up to light the Peruvian runway with their headlamps, according to the BBC.
As you can see here, their plan worked and the plane took off successfully. Just goes to show you what drivers (and riders) can do when they work together."

Oh good grief! The millions of dollars of damage there... One would think they might devise a trigger/laser/electric eye or some sort of device a half block away that could set off a whole bunch of flashing red lights and stop just a few of those messes.
Too much stupid "It's not my problem" going around.
Edit: reading the web site FAQ:
Quote:
Why don't they fix it? Depends on who "they" are and on what "fix" means. ...There is an "overheight when flashing" sign with flashing lights that are triggered by vehicles that are too tall.
Why are they using yellow flashing lights? Warning lights have to be yellow according to the NC traffic laws.
How much would it take to install a bunch of red flashing lights right at the bridge???
We'll get back to AC. In the meantime, exactly 5 asshats drive down my road each day blaring hate speech (otherwise known as rap) from their vehicles. I'd like to see Newton's Cradle run on them - minus the helmets, of course.

The best has got to be the pair of hay trucks: identical trucks, similar load, not doubt roping for the same brand, and the second one keeps going through the load dumped by the first. You gotta flunk a lot more than math and reading to do that! Like, shoe tying and potty training.
