I am glad that you like the pics -- I thought of you and your upcoming trip. I will be climbing Mt Hoffman this weekend AND doing a little aclimatizing for next week at the same time, but what I am not sure of is if they are still allowing overnight parking on Tioga rd (I will be driving it yet again next week on my way to "The Zone".

My issues with camping these days(I do a LOT of it -- almost every weekend)is that since I am a slightly built person, I get cold at ridiculously high temps (you should see the layers I have set out for this week and next)I tried to put some weight on this year, but I lost it all by the end of the summer, so here I am getting ready to freeze to death for another winter season..

Well you seem to survive somehow every year Bee.I have been reading about how viagra increases circulation in men. I wonder if it would have the same increase circulation and warming of extremeties in women.I am not aware if there are any contraindications for use of viagra in women.I will research that.I know it is containdicated with certain heart medications and High Blood pressure beta blockers meds.Being a Chiropractor I am not one to ever encourage the use of medications but if there are no side effects or contraindications for use in women viagra might warm up those extremities. Just a thought.I know they are talking about banning its use in in Olympic endurance and alpine events.

Wow, Rod, this IS some interesting info! I would bee very appreciative if you could give me any info tht you find out about the alternate use of Viagra. The only meds that I take are Diamox -- which I hate, because it makes my hands feel crazy. The cold has been a problem all of my life; I used to be a working (scuba) Dive Master, but my incidence of hypothermia was so regular that it was not worth the misery. (I experimented with Dry suits, but the neck dam caused my gag reflex to reflex uncontrollably...sigh) Anyhow, currently, I am pleased with my Hot Chilies thermals, and I recently bought a down vest to go over my 60mph fleece..!

There was a discussion on the WPS board reagrding viagra helping to overcome exhaustion and how cyclist are using it as a performance enhancer.It is a vasodilator would causes feeling flushed and even headaches as a mild side effect.I'll research today if I get a break at work today.

If the benefits keep mounting I wonder if perhaps someday the ED side of things might evolve to being a popular side effect, in other words, could be someday see new warnings? Well the question we are trying to answer Bee is if there is a safe drug available that will increase your circulation so you don't have to freeze while winter camping. While this topic certainly invites lots of potential joke opportunities it is a serious subject matter.Viagra has been shown to have the abilty to increase peripheal circulation. The abilty to bring blood to the extremities not only serves as a performance enhancer by delivering more blood to the muscles but should also help keep head,hands and feet warmer.It certainly causes facial and torso flushing which is obvious vaso dilation.There are many athletes using it for the ability to incresae periperal circulation. Just throwing out a thought that has been discussed a lot in terms of a viable use of viagra.

I have not really been able to address this circulation problem very successfully, because 1)those who have witnessed it (my hands turn blue at seemingly high temps) become excessively alarmed and overreact 2) the docs have "simply" stated "than don't do that" ("that" being the thing I love to do: hike/camp 4-season)

The reaction was the same dismissive attitude for years, when it came to my issues with AMS, and than along came Diamox and Alice's Looking glass was opened for me, too. I was persistant and pushed, until finally a doctor friend gave me the biggest bottle of diamox as a birthday present.(I have so much of stuff that I will probably have to mention it in a living will)

There are natural nutritional products that aid circulation also Bee.I will do a thorough search for you.There are some Cayenne products that aid circulation. I use a product called KM which delivers oxygen to the blood. It was developed by an alpine climber to oxygenate the blood.I swear it is the reason I climbed MW successfully my 1st time without any time spent acclimating.It is a liquid that tastes kind of nasty but it works amazing to oxygenate the blood.Of course I think you need more volume of blood delivered to your extremities.Having more oxygen would at least keep your hands from turning blue.

Just a side note I had a patient come into my office with a stiff neck. Apparently his viagra got stuck in his throat.
