Hmmmm....anyone passing by might think that she is the guardian of the Zone (and checking for permits!)

Here's Bri, Gary and Barbs daughter holding the Moose I got when the Outdoor Channel interviewed me for a TV show they were producing of Wildlife artists. The interview was August of 2005. Little did I know that one month later, cancer would visit me.....and cancer would lose our battle. So.....I don't have a name, but I carried this little guy with me this last week to the summit of Whitney.

Chick-On is going all-out to impress his new girl friend. He took her here:

Scoob looks really determined - hope he's got the experience to go along with the attitude grin

Took Luna/Wolfie up the Vivian Creek trail to San Gorgonio. Made it to the junction of Vivian Creek & Dollar Lake trail at my turn around time. Only .6 miles from the summit, but I had already extended my time until 2pm. (Got a late start and stopped to talk to a couple of people that had AMS symptoms)

Some wildflowers are out in full force close to the High Creek Campground.

One more training hike and then Whitney Summit!

Haven't came up for name for him yet confused

Lone Pine Trip

Best Seat of the House

In the Bushes

So crocodiles do exist on Mt Whitney (why tents shake so bad at the trailcamp at night wink )!

Good meeting and hiking with you Tony. One other tidbit to share is that this croc had a great tolerance for the cold on summit day!

Mousie and Mini just saw the webcam image - and went straight for the snowboard catalog that came in with the mail last night...

here's two hiking buddies who haven't been above 1000 feet elevation in 7 months, and you can tell that's not sitting well with them. MUST GO climb a rock!

I finally was able to take my hiking buddies to Mt. Baldy this past Sunday!

Wazzu had inspired me with Wolfie/Luna since my son had the same critter, however, he won't let me take him hiking! So, I got the small black bear similar to the husky, but then my husband found the bigger one for me...I think they both will be going up Whitney in August!!

p.s. I have tried and tried to get the picture to post properly, read the directions more than once but it does not seem to be cooperating.

Edit by Steve C: That image address is not web standard, so the a bigger hammer wink and made it work.

Very cute. At least your bears won't be stealing packs full of food!

We'll have to get a hike together so we can get a pic of all the 'hiking buddies' in one place.

And congrats on making it to the top of Baldy.

Both "Moosies" are adorable!

Yeah, Chick-on is taken....for now, but there are a couple of other suitors after Chick-ah. I am not sure if she is a mountain girl, either.
