It's interesting that in a forum devoted primarily to Whitney and other mountaineering issues that one thread has proven to be so popular -- "Where Are the Silly Jokes".
We all clearly like to laugh.
And there is good evidence from many posts that we all like to think. There are clearly folks amongst us that can claim to being more than half wits. Even Wagga! :-)
I wonder if a new thread as started here might be popular?
Here's an initial puzzle:
All plods are also plops.
Half the plops are also ploms.
Half the plods are also ploms.
Half the plops are also plods.
There are twice as many plops as either ploms or plods.
There are two plods that are also plops.
How many pure plops are there?

There are clearly folks amongst us that can claim to being more than half wits. Even Wagga! :-) I, for one, am an one-eighth wit. The other seven-eighths wit just don't get it. I blame it on my emotional intelligence. wagga always has me running to the "what the" reference and has me saying to myself, "what did he just say? To me, a plop...well, occurs during the morning constitutional...DID I SAY THAT? I better stop...plop. For the record, and for my 1/8th, I say there are 2 pure plops.
Journey well...

There is a puzzle from the game Silent Hill 2 that I always tell people and it seems to confuse some although the answer is simple. Basically you have a door you need to get through with a number keypad to unlock it. In a room is the clue on a black board that says "This months code is T, last month it was X and the month before that it was Z. But what are they going to do next month because that's all you can define with 4 numbers.

YIKES, this puzzle has me puzzled. I just hope I can solve it before Wagga. I'll have to give it some thought and research.

But I counted a few props, proms, and prods that did not make it into the accounting.

I'll wait to post the correct answer . . . lynn-a-roo seems like she wants to tackle the puzzle. And we have yet to hear from Wagga.
+@ti2d -- yes, you SAID it! (And I thought I was the ONLY one who grew up in a family using THAT term for THAT . . . )
RoguePhotonic -- thank you for your "entry". I'm going to have to think about that one. Are you sure you worded the clue the right way?
And here is the third puzzle for this thread (or should it be in silly jokes?)-- a man is told he has half a year to live. 6 months later he dies. How can this be?

Yep it's right. a man is told he has half a year to live. 6 months later he dies. How can this be? 6 and one half dozen of the other?

I agree with Bulldog, the answer is 1 pure plop.
The only way I could think of to solve this puzzle was to treat it like an algebra problem.

I havent seen Wagga posts the last few days, maybe he's away? So, with lynn-a-roo's answer I'll now post the correct answer.
Congratulations lynn-a-roo, AlanK, and especially Bulldog34 who answered it correctly first (and with only one cup of coffee).
For anyone who doesn't "get" how to solve the puzzle, I can give you at least one explanation (there may be several ways to solve it) upon request.
I actually created that puzzle myself. Since then, I've never explored if that was a fluke or if I had the ability to do others.
RoguePhotonic, I'm not doing well with your puzzle. Don't answer it yet -- let's see if others input, and let's see if I can still get it.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again. Being short on caffeine at the time, I used a graphic representation to solve it. I found the real trickiness to the puzzle being the order in which the clues were presented. Change the order and the process get a lot easier.
Good one!

But what are they going to do next month because that's all you can define with 4 numbers. From what I can see the pattern here is offering two options... next months letter will be either L or N... I think it's L...

Yep, Y works, too, as do O, Q , C, and U, if you think LCD. For that matter, K is as good as X. That keypad clue has at least six months to live. However, I am pretty sure it was a whiteboard.

Since I am back from a trip and you are ALL wrong I shall tell you the answer. Your mistake is in attempting to pick another letter when your supposed to be looking for a 4 digit code to open the door. If you picture X, Z, or T overlayed on a number pad X can equal 1937. Z can be 1379 and that leaves you the answer of T=1328. Those 3 letters are the only ones that can define 4 numbers in this way which is why it asks what will they do next month? Thanks for playing but you lost a life time supply of turtle wax.

... Those 3 letters are the only ones that can define 4 numbers in this way which is why it asks what will they do next month? ... If Z works then N works so there are not just 3 letters that work. The puzzle is broken. Many security keypads are 4 rows of 3 columns where a T can also give 1320. The puzzle does not provide a unique solution. Many security numeric pads are 2 columns of 5 or 6 where the puzzle is nonsense. Not a turtle wax worthy puzzle. Dale B. Dalrymple

I agree that N works. I thought about that when it was mentioned.
It's a bit unfair when you can't see the keypad in the game.
