I've been home sick all week, so I finally was forced to sit down and put together the "trip report" of my adventure with my Pop from last June. I was reminded of the task in part due both to the upcoming holiday and from Kev-bo's post of "good" days on the mountain. Our "summit" was a few switchers above the cables, turning due to snow and finally exceeding Pop's comfort level. In all, I got to spend a week with my Pop, sharing with him all the gifts that have been given to me over the past years. You'll never convince me that standing atop a summit is of more value than the time I spent with him that week.
He doesn't know it yet, but we'll be going for it again this summer. Preferably under drier conditions. That champagne needs to be opened at 14.5K.
If you've got 15 minutes to kill, enjoy. Now I need to get started on the annual Christmas slide show...
I was going to say the same thing. Very nice tribute and very nice presentation. There is an upside to being sick for a week. Good thing you felt like doing something at least.
Whatever it takes to get it done right? Great job. I watched it on facebook and absolutely loved it.Great thing to watch as I sat at my computer looking out the window watching the rain and quail scurrying in the yard.
Laura, just . . . wow! Exceptionally well done, and I enjoyed it immensely. I particularly loved the Van Halen close-out - very appropriate. You have one very lucky Dad. Thanks for sharing.
