Get over that cold

Laura!
Is there a lot of pitch on those Pinyon Pines?
I found a way to make sticky pine cones (those giant sugar pines) un-sticky: Put them in the oven at 275 for about 2 hours. (Smokes up the house though, so run the ventilation fan!) And be sure to put them on a cookie sheet with sides, covered with foil. The pitch drains off and hardens, and what is left behind is shiny and hard.
Once that is done, the pine cones are great for kids crafts. They can decorate them with glitter and all sorts of stuff.
