Today, I got a rare chance to see if one could see Half Dome from Hwy 99 in Turlock. It was one of those crystal-clear days following a big storm that passed through last night. AND, I was driving through Turlock on Freeway 99.
Having worked on the maps and lines posted above, I knew the line crossed through the northern part of Turlock, crossing the 99 at about Monte Vista Ave. So we stopped -- on the freeway shoulder with cars whizzing by -- and I got the pictures below.
