A Portland man fell 200 feet and died in the Sierra Nevada Range, according to the Inyo County Sheriff's Office in California.
Search and rescue crews were actively looking for 37-year-old Christian Meining since Monday morning, when reports came in that he was last seen in the morning on Friday.
Meining's body was discovered Tuesday afternoon at the bottom of a steep ledge near a creek crossing on the Mt. Whitney trail, said the sheriff's office.
