Very interesting read. Guess it isn't all that glamorous of a job after all.Burst that bubble. Guess I won't being quiting my job and becoming a Ranger anytime soon.
I remember mistaking that all the Yosemite Park Rangers were friendly, help the campers, Ranger Rick, nice guy types.I immediately found out they are Law Enforcement. 25 years ago it I almost got a DUI and a night in the Mariposa jail for slowing down and telling some Rangers that were performing a Field Sobriety check on a young woman. I said that I knew the girl and would give her a ride back to her campground . My bad. I had spent several hours taking Tequilla shots at the Yosemite Lodge bar.On the drive back to my campsite I intervined in a Ranger DUI Sobriety Test. Next thing I was taking a field sobriety test. Don't know how but I passed and got a "free" ride back to my campsite while the girl went to jail.I was given the lecture that he was a Federal Ranger and I had better never intefere with them again.I haven't. Lesson learned.
