Agree Rod....the wag bag and trash thing really fried my britches. I was surprised that when I was getting my permit the Ranger had to explain to me about not leaving the wag bag on the trail. Apparently quite a few people need to hear that request more than once. Personally I think they should charge a reasonable fee for the permit and use that money to find a solution to that problem. No flames for that comment please....just my personal opinion.
For the past 5-6 years I have been running marathons and ultra's and doing long course triathlons. I was hopeful that my run fitness would translate into hiking at altitude and thankfully it did. Only a few times on the switchbacks did I feel a bit winded. Not to say it was easy because it was not easy. I was very sore the next 2 days though as I don't use the same muscles when running and the newly used muscles were not happy! I'm better today though.
