I was with Bob on this day (Jason) and what a day it was. I would tell anyone planning on climbing it that the pictures do no justice; this mountain is unreal. I think Bob was testing me on this one and it was a great lead up to now 6 months of climbing we have done together.
As I said in my first Whitney climb and trip report
here, Bob has been a huge piece of my mountaineering journey, and Humphreys was icing on the cake.
To add to that, days before we did White mountain and the two un-named peaks beyond it, then we did Wheeler peak, Baker, Baker West, the Jefferson needle (more to come on that from Bob), Doso Doyabi and Mt Moriah three days after Humphreys and just got home today. We have been going hard for months.
For anyone new to mountaineering, dont hesitate to ask for help so you can learn what needs to be learned. But dont think you know anything and go in with an open mind. I had a lot of experience in mountains and on trails, with a lot of cardio, but thats a lot different than climbing some of the mountains we have been climbing. So if you are lucky enough to find someone that can help you out, shut up, listen up, and sponge it up.
What a ride. Thanks for a great day to everyone involved.
