Wow, that's a crazy trail! Starts at 5400 elevation, and tops out at 11400'. It's on the order of a Mt Whitney hike, only it starts so low, heat will be an issue. The map shows you are parallel to a stream, and gets really close to it at 2 miles, crossing at ~3.5. Near the summit the trail passes right by some small ponds, and then descending the west side, you encounter a stream again in about a mile.
